The people we are trying to help are usually poor but also tend to live in areas with fragile environments. It is therefore essential to help farming communities to adopt or improve sustainable agricultural production systems which can balance productivity and environmental conservation, and which are well suited to local conditions. The Alternative Development Knowledge Network allows its users to share knowledge and information on this topic.
